ROAD TO LOGISTICS CIC
Our DELIVERY PARTNER
Managing Director at Road to Logistics, Jen Swain MBE, says: "At Road to Logistics, we believe that a truly diverse and inclusive logistics industry starts with access to opportunity.
There is an enormous pool of talent within our communities that the sector has historically struggled to reach. Women, people with criminal convictions, veterans, the long-term unemployed, neurodivergent people and those facing social or economic disadvantage can all bring valuable skills, experience and different perspectives to our industry – but too often, barriers prevent them from getting through the door.
Our work is about removing those barriers. Through funded training, employer partnerships, individual support and 12 months of ongoing mentoring, we help people build sustainable careers while enabling logistics employers to recruit from a broader and more diverse talent pool.
That is why becoming a Delivery Partner for The Big Logistics Diversity Challenge feels like such a natural partnership for Road to Logistics. The event brings our industry together to celebrate difference, challenge perceptions and demonstrate the value of inclusion in a practical and engaging way.
For us, diversity isn't simply about representation. It is about making sure opportunity is genuinely open to everyone."
Road to Logistics' Impact
Since September 2020, Road to Logistics has supported more than 750 people to access careers within transport and logistics.
Our outcomes demonstrate that inclusive recruitment can deliver lasting results:
What Road to Logistics Do
Road to Logistics creates fully supported pathways into transport and logistics careers, including HGV driver training, warehousing and forklift training, employability support and industry preparation.
Our support does not end when someone secures a job. Every learner can access ongoing mentoring for 12 months, helping individuals navigate the transition into employment and supporting employers with long-term retention.
Strategic Employer Partnerships
Our role extends beyond training and candidate supply. We work strategically with logistics employers to understand their current and future workforce requirements and help them develop more inclusive, resilient and sustainable talent pipelines.
By combining our knowledge of underrepresented talent pools with employers' workforce data, recruitment challenges and future skills requirements, we can identify where traditional recruitment approaches may be limiting access to talent and develop targeted programmes that respond to genuine operational need.
This can include workforce planning, inclusive recruitment strategy, bespoke programme design, recruitment pathways, guaranteed interviews, mentoring and retention support.
Our aim is not to replace existing recruitment channels, but to enhance an employer's wider workforce strategy by opening access to talent that conventional routes may not always reach.
For our employer partners, this means addressing immediate recruitment needs while building a stronger and more diverse workforce for the future.
Road to Logistics is looking forward to partnering with The Big Logistics Diversity Challenge and finding out what’s in-store for the teams involved in the challenge in 2027.
